What is the difference between a single-entry Schengen visa and a multiple-entry Schengen visa?

A traveller holding a single-entry visa can only access the country on a single occasion and return to the UK. With a single entry, you cannot re-enter into Schengen Area. In the case of a multiple-entry Schengen visa, it becomes easy for the traveller to enter the country multiple times.
